Nordic Africa Institute launches new responsive website on Roxen CMS

In order to improve the accessibility on mobile devices, the Nordic Africa Institute has launched a new responsive Roxen CMS website designed by web agency Wasabi Web.

The Nordic Africa Institute in Uppsala conducts social science research on modern Africa and joint research ventures involving African and Nordic researchers. The institute is jointly financed by the Nordic countries. In order to make its activities, research results and analyses more accessible, a new, responsive website was required. Roxen CMS was chosen as the web platform, and Roxen is also responsible for operation and monitoring of the platform, while web agency Wasabi Web was tasked with the design and front-end development of the new site.

"For us as a public authority, accessibility is extremely important, and since most people use mobiles and tablets to access the internet, we needed to build a new, easily-accessible and responsive site. At the same time we took the opportunity to improve and simplify a number of functions – to make it easier for our visitors/users and also for ourselves in managing the website", says Susanna Dukaric, Web Coordinator at the Nordic Africa Institute.

The web project has been a collaboration between the Nordic Africa Institute’s project manager, and the designers and developers from Wasabi Web and Roxen.

"The collaboration between Roxen and Wasabi Web has worked superbly", continues Susanna Dukaric.

The Nordic Africa Institute’s new website is one in a line of new websites on Roxen CMS, with a focus on applications within media, as well as marketing and communication departments at larger companies, and within research and higher education.

"The Nordic Africa Institute’s confidence in us testifies to the increasing interest in Roxen CMS as a stable and reliable platform. The collaboration with the client and the web agency was a pleasure, and simplified our task of delivering the desired functionality within the stated time", says Per Östlund, CEO of Roxen AB.

The undertaking does not end with the delivery, as Roxen is delivering the new website as a service, with ongoing responsibility for operation, monitoring and maintenance.

"We now have a website that we are very happy with, and we look forward to continue the development on the solid foundation that has been built", Susanna Dukaric concludes.
