Major European bank selects Webfactory to develop Roxen CMS-based responsive web for business customers

AIB, a major European bank, has selected Webfactory digital consultants to develop responsive web for enriched banking functionality, designed specifically for small businesses. Webfactory, a long-time Roxen partner, has based the development on Roxen CMS.

AIB, a major European bank with 23,000 employees, has launched a business website for customers on www.aib.ie/business. This is the first step in the phased redesign of www.aib.ie, which will see enhanced services for AIB’s personal, business and corporate customers. This journey will include enriched internet banking functionality designed specifically for small businesses.

AIB is the first bank in Ireland to deliver its online offering in a responsive framework. A responsive design ensures that all business customers’ needs are catered for irrespective of the device they chose to view the site on – desktop, tablet and mobile. This customer-centric approach to design results in a site that is easier to navigate where users’ needs are the main focus, appropriate to the lifestage of the business.

Robert Mulhall, Head of Direct Channels, AIB Bank said: “The redesign of the business site follows an extensive research program undertaken by AIB to better understand our business customers’ online banking needs. It represents the first phase in the delivery of an extensive range of online service enhancements to our customers.”

“Our goal was to not only demonstrate an ongoing commitment to our business customers, but also to make our entire website cleaner, less cluttered, more focused on business customers’ needs and easier to navigate.”

“By offering business owners a range of online banking services, which will help them conduct their business banking in a more effective and efficient way, they too can realise the inherent benefits of banking with AIB. Not only have we successfully launched our new business site, with more to come, we have also made it easier for our business customers to access the many tools and resources that we have to offer,” Mr Mullhall added.

AIB partnered with Webfactory, Ireland-based digital consultants and long-time Roxen partner, on this project. Managing Director Simon Walsh adds: “The new AIB business site will transform the way businesses interact with AIB. The site aids customers in finding relevant solutions in a quick and easy manner. It is also highly transportable across all devices, especially mobile and tablet, as these channels are becoming ever more important to AIBs customer base”. ”With Roxen CMS as the development platform we have been able to adopt a channel- and device-agnostic approach while keeping development time at a minimum", Walsh continues.
