Protect your web site
Not all parts of a web site should be open to all users. Depending on the nature of the site it could have parts targeted at business partners, specific customers or employees only. Likewise, it's equally important to protect the content authoring tools and server administration interfaces to prevent unwanted modifications to the site.
In Roxen CMS you can add protection to anything from the site itself all the way down to a single paragraph or even character in a specific web page.
Transparant security
The protection is transparent to visitors in that they don't even notice the parts they are not allowed to access:
-
Navigation links – Links to protected web pages disappear from navigation interfaces.
-
Search engine filtering – Searches that may return sensitive data are filtered before the user sees the result by taking that user's access permissions into consideration.
-
Adaptive editing interface – Editing commands are hidden from users that are not allowed to use them.
These features provide an excellent foundation for personalization, i.e. web sites that give visitors a personalized view of the site.
Role-bases privileges

All users, groups and privileges are centrally administered and can be edited graphically in the web interface. By defining groups of users for different roles – project managers, supervisors, designers, translators or anything else that you need – you can quickly control permissions for a large set of users with a few mouse clicks.
Roxen CMS offers a number tools to handle enterprise-sized installations. You can divide users into zones which is a means of delegation that lets managers take responsibility over their own employees without affecting other departments within the same organization. Another feature is a web interface that remains functional even with hundreds of thousands of users in the same system.
Integrations with external systems
User information can be imported from a variety of external systems such as:
- LDAP
- Windows domains
- Unix YP/NIS servers and passwd files
- SQL databases
Several import sources can be used concurrently.
