The Noticias newspaper group with four titles across southern Mexico was founded in 1976. The papers are published seven days a week and are the most widely read in the regions they cover. As part of Noticias’ modernization efforts, the group has decided to implement a new newsroom solution for publishing across all channels. After a thorough evaluation of multiple systems, including site visits to other customers, the choice fell on Roxen Editorial Portal and Roxen’s mobile reporter app: Roxen Roamer.

“We were looking for a modern web-based system that could help us maximize synergies in our newsrooms and with one user interface where all content is created and managed”, says Alejandro Gómez, IT director at Noticias. “The cost aspect and positive references from other customers were also important to us. Roxen ticked all those boxes”, Gómez continues.

Roxen’s solution for Noticias consists of the production tool Roxen Editorial Portal where all content is created and managed across print and digital channels. Noticias will also implement the Roxen Roamer mobile reporter app. This app is part of the Roxen Newsroom Solution and lets reporters deliver text, images and video into the editorial system and publish online directly from their mobile iOS devices (iPhones and iPads).

“We are very happy that Noticias has chosen Roxen for production and publication of editorial content across all channels. Our focus is to provide the best integrated Newsroom Solution, at the right price, and the shortest implementation time, all in order to meet the requirements both today and in the future for strong newsbrands like Noticias”, says Johan Hansson, EVP of Roxen Inc. “Noticias is our latest customer in a region where we have been serving the market for daily newspapers in many countries ever since Publimetro in Chile went live on Roxen over a decade ago”, Hansson concludes.
