Racetrack Circuit Park Zandvoort has a new website. www.circuit-zandvoort.nl contains a lot of various, service-oriented information, meant for consumers as well as business visitors, journalists and race teams. The number of visitors differs widely. Per year, the racetrack facilitates more than 1.5 million unique visitors, with peaks during events, up to 150.000 in a racing weekend. The site contains live content, including lap times, results and cup scores.

Also, all disciplines of the racetrack exploitation are published. Circuit Park Zandvoort has plans for a further expansion of the service. 'Technologically there are no limits now. We can automate complete business processes.'

Content in own management

After eight years, it was necessary to refresh the former site. Moreover, the company wanted to insert or remove information from the site in their own management. 'You would think the wish to be able to insert information on the site is a basic one, however as our site is very technological, this is quite complex. For example, for the registration of lap times and scores, we use different linked databases, which of course have to continue to produce unequivocal information. What you don't want is adapting the data several times. Now adaptations, including a score or lap time and event dates are processed one time only. Then the content management system automatically updates the various pages that show these data. For us, this is a big improvement', says to the racetrack management.

It is of the utmost importance for the staff of the racetrack that the new CMS is user-friendly. The Roxen-system turns out to fulfill this condition.

Enormous supply

The choice for Roxen has been made following the advice of some other technology suppliers of Circuit Park Zandvoort. 'We used their advice to orient ourselves towards different possibilities, also because a standard CMS alone did not suffice. For our specific demands a flexible CMS was desired. This condition narrowed down the choices significantly. Of Roxen, some fine examples are available, including the RTL site that is also provided with a large diversity of elements like streaming, video, audio, polls and actual information.'

At Circuit Park Zandvoort, Roxen is set in a Linux-environment.
