LINKÖPING, SWEDEN
11 November 2001
Universal Music BV, the Dutch subsidiary of the world's largest music company, has launched its new Internet site: www.universalmusic.nl to offer information about their artists and their respective music. Roxen Platform, the highly flexible Web Content Management software, powers the site. Roxen IS partner Escador has performed customisation and implementation of the software.
According to mr. Loe Beerens, Internet manager at Universal Music, Universal Music selected Roxen Platform because it is the most functional rich Web Content Management solution today, and at the same time conforming to today's standards, Due to the separation of content and design and the use of open standards such as XML and XSLT, information — containing e.g. text, pictures music or banners — can easily be changed and published on the web by employees of Universal Music without learning new techniques and concepts or the use of a specialized authoring tool.
Roxen Internet Software sells their products mainly through a network of certified partners. These partners also manage the implementation and consultancy for the customer. Universal Music relies on Escador, Den Dolder for building the new Portal. Together with employees of Universal Music, Escador handled design and development and of the Portal and implemented the integration to the back office and legacy systems at Universal Music. By this tight cooperation between Roxen Internet Software, value added reseller Escador and Universal Music, a very attractive Portal was developed within a short period of time. The portal can be found on www.universalmusic.nl.
Roxen Platform distinguishes itself from other content management systems with a system built on XML and other open standards. It is browser based, supports Java and is JSP compatible. Roxen Platform has built in functionality for workflow, access control, graphic support and versioning. Roxen Platform is platform and database independent.
