Norrkoping.se on Roxen Platform

LINKÖPING, SWEDEN

3 July 2001

Roxen Internet Software today announced a contract where the City of Norrköping will base its new version of the city's Web site on Roxen Platform, the award winning Web Content Management Software. The contract covers software licensing as well as consulting.

One purpose of the remake of the Web site is to increase the quality and actuality of the content, by allowing more persons to update content without the need for programming skills.

"We want the information owners to update their respective content directly on the Web, just as they do on paper today. Roxen Platform was chosen on technical merits as well as because of its ability to support our organization with distributed responsibilities. We particularly like the structured management of Roxen Platform, the search functions and the statistics module," said Jan Hanaeus, Information Director for the City of Norrköping.

Other features that attracted Norrköping are the strong support for graphics and the simple administration of user profiles and privileges.

"The order from Norrköping is a break through for our efforts to serve the Public Sector with Content Management. Swedish authorities and cities are moving fast in the direction of 24x7 service, and we aim to be a major player in their Web Content Management efforts," said Lars Högberg, CEO Roxen Internet Software.

Norrkoping.se will be controlled by an editorial team without programmers. The City's IT department has been helpful in the procurement, but the system is owned by the Information Office, headed by Information Director Jan Hanaeus.

The next version of norrkoping.se will focus on external Web site visitors, such as citizens, tourists and businesses contemplating a location in Norrköping. It will part of the service the city offers its inhabitants. Future versions will also address the need for an efficient internal flow of information, in the form of an intranet.
